My girlfriend had to be on call for her job on MLK weekend. So I thought I would get some guys together to go on a ski trip. First conversations with Noel had us going down south to Wolf Creek or west to Utah. Then we finally came up with idea of Steamboat with some mixed in back country skiing, less driving more skiing. The first day we stopped in North Park to hit up Seven Utes mountain. The mountain has be slated many times for the development of a ski area but luckily it has never gone through. After no snow for a week we had fresh tracks on a blue bird day.......
Crossing the Michigan river.
Back side of the Diamond Peaks and Montgomery Pass
From the top of Seven Utes looking at Mount Mahler
The Core few that made it to the Summit.. Another 30 feet.
Jeff kicking up dust
Noel lean back
Picture of the Day (Jon Wulff)
Shane looking for the next turn in a fresh line
I love to ski

The Group (Noel, Shane, Jon, Me, Craig, and Jeff)
Craig kinking up cold smoke with 75 under foot
Back at the car tired and thankful for the awesome day.
I am again reminded of how much I like being in mountains with a few people in the back country compared to being at a resort with thousands of people. Quality VS Quantity.
